There, the automated assembly line was operating efficiently, digital equipment was displaying the quality parameters of the yarn in real time, and each process link such as texturing, finishing and weaving was connected in an orderly manner, basically achieving unmanned operation.

Zeng Suping, the vice president of production at Fujian Tianshou Textile New Materials Co., LTD., introduced that since the company launched the digital textile intelligent manufacturing project, it has brought about gratifying changes: energy consumption has decreased by 15%, the product defect rate has dropped by 20%, and the overall production efficiency has increased by 36%.

The process of transformation is not all smooth sailing. When the project was just getting started, we encountered problems such as the incompatibility between the existing system architecture and the new equipment technology, low acceptance among employees, and poor training effects. This made us hesitate between making the transition and not making it. Ultimately, it was the encouraging measures introduced by the government that strengthened our determination for digital transformation. Zeng Suping said.

This is a microcosm of the digital transformation process of many garment and textile enterprises in Changting. How can we ensure that all enterprises that should be transferred, dare to be transferred and are willing to do so?

In recent years, Changting County has formulated and introduced a package of supportive policies for the digital transformation and upgrading of enterprises, encouraging them to carry out digital transformation and technological innovation. Meanwhile, Changting is accelerating the construction of digital infrastructure, further deepening the application of technologies such as AI, big data, and the Internet of Things, promoting the development of the textile industry towards high-end and intelligent. It has gradually cultivated a number of leading enterprises in the textile and garment industry, including Anta, Yilai, Warburg Cooperation, and Tianshou. Up to now, there are over 400 textile and garment enterprises in Changting, among which 50 are large-scale enterprises. A preliminary industrial chain of "spinning - weaving - knitting and garment processing - market" has been formed, making it one of the five textile and garment industrial clusters in the province. In 2024, the output value of the textile and garment industry is expected to reach 5.5 billion yuan, with 4 billion yuan for large-scale enterprises.

The incentives and guidance of policies and funds, as well as the demonstration and leading role of major enterprises, have addressed the concerns of enterprises that they are reluctant to transform due to lack of funds, unwilling to transform due to lack of solutions, and unable to transform due to lack of technology. At present, all the large-scale enterprises in the knitting industry of Changting have achieved the transformation and upgrading from hand-cranking knitting machines to fully automatic computerized knitting machines. The count and needle count of fabrics are constantly improving, and the fabrics are upgrading from low-end to mid-to-high-end. Among the 770,000 spindles that the spinning enterprise has put into operation, over 80% have achieved equipment upgrading and replacement, reducing the number of workers per 10,000 spindles from over 100 to over 40. The products have also been upgraded from viscose-cotton blended yarns to differentiated and high-end yarns such as Tencel, modal and color-spun yarns, significantly enhancing production efficiency and product added value.
