From May 12th to 16th, the research team of the "Jinlun · National Tour on High-Quality Development of the Cotton Textile Industry" visited the three northeastern provinces. Jing Shenquan, vice president of the China National Cotton Textile Association, Sun Wu, deputy general manager of Jinlun Needle Cloth (Jiangsu) Co., LTD., and Tong Zhuorui, assistant general manager, visited Shenyang, Siping, Baicheng, Changchun, Jiamusi and other places to learn about the current production and operation situation of the enterprises and exchange views on the high-quality development of the industry.

The basic situation of cotton spinning in Northeast China

Northeast China, once an important textile industrial base in our country, has witnessed and experienced the glory of China's textile industry for a long time. After the reform and opening up, attracted by the opening-up policies of the coastal areas, a large amount of capital and talents moved south. Coupled with problems such as aging equipment, high costs and insufficient product competitiveness, the cotton textile industry in Northeast China gradually declined. At present, the cotton spinning capacity in Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces is all between 100,000 and 200,000 spindles, and the individual production capacity of enterprises is almost all below 50,000 spindles. The total production capacity of the three provinces does not exceed 500,000 spindles.

Although the clothing and sock industries in Northeast China have developed well, due to considerations of price and category diversity, the yarns and fabrics used by local downstream enterprises are still mainly from outside the region. The products of local spinning enterprises are mainly sold to the eastern coastal areas, and the products are mainly blended yarns of chemical fibers. Cotton spinning enterprises in Northeast China almost no longer use cotton as raw materials.

The raw materials and markets of the enterprise are both located in the eastern coastal area, and the transportation cost is relatively high. In addition, the winter heating expenses of enterprises in Northeast China are also a significant cost. The local electricity bill is around 0.75 yuan per kilowatt-hour. Most enterprises have relatively old equipment, and the number of workers per 10,000 spindles is about 50. The monthly salary of workers is 4,000 to 5,000 yuan, which is generally at a medium to upper level in the area where the enterprises are located. However, it is also very difficult to recruit workers, and the number of employees is seriously aging.

Perseverance and Breakthrough

Facing numerous challenges, cotton spinning enterprises in Northeast China are also actively exploring new development paths. Shenyang New District Hongqu Cotton Textile Co., Ltd. has been actively going out to build factories in Sichuan on the one hand. Relying on the local energy and labor cost advantages, it has gradually expanded its production capacity. With the scale advantage, it has now developed into a well-known domestic sewing thread enterprise. Adhering to the production capacity in Shenyang, we are actively developing new varieties of chemical fiber blends and extending the industrial chain to develop the dyeing and printing sector, striving to provide good product support for downstream enterprises in Northeast China and achieve common development.

Siping Xingda Textile Co., Ltd. follows the development trend of the industry and conducts technological transformation and renewal of its equipment every year. The equipment upgrade has significantly improved production efficiency and product quality, and the sales situation of the enterprise's products is good. Changchun Dongfang Textile Group Co., Ltd. has adjusted its product structure. Currently, its main products are chemical fiber colored spun yarns, which are mainly sold in Zhejiang and Liaoyang areas. Jilin Sijishengbao Textile Co., Ltd. and Jiamusi Yijia Textile Co., Ltd. adopt an integrated industrial and trade operation model. Their production bases are located in Northeast China, while their sales and trade sectors are in Zhejiang. This model emphasizes resource integration, enhancing the efficiency and added value of the entire industrial chain, and strengthening the market competitiveness of the enterprises.

During the visit, all the surveyed enterprises expressed their recognition of Jinlun Needle Cloth's persistence and service in the Northeast region. They praised Jinlun for its excellent product quality and considerate service, which has helped local enterprises persist in the path of high-quality combing. Many enterprises have been using Jinlun for decades, which is also based on their high recognition of Jinlun.
